High Altitude Waterproof Cutdown

This single cutdown system utilizes an 80-34 gauge nichrome wire as the active element. To achieve waterproof capabilities, the ABS box is sealed with two O-rings that are compressed onto sanded surfaces. Two compression fittings retain two silicone septa that allow the wax-coated line to pass through them. The system is controlled with a Micro ZiggBee 3 XBee 3. This combination radio and microcontroller unit facilitates cutdown for a high altitude balloon when given radio commands and is powered by a AAA battery.
